Band of Brothers
I’M A THEO
A few days after Theo’s accident, my brother, Philip, had a bunch of purple bracelets or wristbands made up. On one side, the bracelet read “I’m A Theo.” On the other, it said, “Band Of Theos.” Friends who visited Theo in the hospital would pick one up and wear it as a reminder and a sign of solidarity in his recovery effort. If someone couldn’t visit, but still wanted a bracelet, Theo’s roommate, Megan Cahill, would send one to them. Soon, the bracelets began to appear on Instagram and Facebook posts from all over the world. Pictures of “Band Of Theo” bracelets appeared on at least four continents that we know about. This photo album is a sample of those pictures. The last photo in the album is one of the most important, taken the day his mother finally tossed her bracelet into the sea, confident her son, while still recovering, was turning his attention to a hopeful future.
